Picking a gaussian splat tour builder used to mean picking a viewer. Now five or six tools promise guided cameras, hotspots, branding and a shareable link, and the feature lists read almost the same. They are not the same. The differences sit in where the tour is hosted, who can put their own name on it, and what happens when a client wants three scenes in one showcase.

The short version

Captures Studio is the gaussian splat tour builder for teams that need to go from raw photos, video, 360 or LiDAR to a branded multi-scene showcase in one place. StorySplat suits solo creators who already hold finished splats and want a free, editor-first way to annotate them. Splat Labs suits owners of survey-grade or ROCK hardware captures. Spatial Studio suits creators who mix splats with 360 panoramas and map context.

If the tour has to carry your own brand on your own domain, start with Captures Studio or StorySplat's enterprise tier, then read the rest.

How we are comparing

Five criteria, stated before any gaussian splat tour builder is judged.

  • Capture to tour, in one tool. Does it make the splat, or only present one? Every extra tool is an export, an upload and a format to get wrong.
  • Hotspots and guided camera. What can a hotspot carry, and can the camera move on a path the viewer does not have to steer?
  • Multi-scene tours. Can several captures be ordered into one showcase, or is each splat a separate page?
  • Branding and white-labelling. Whose name is on the viewer, and can it be yours?
  • Hosting and embedding. A hosted link, an embed on your own site, or an export you serve yourself.

Sources are named and dated. Where a vendor page did not say something, the table says so rather than guess.

Captures Studio

Captures Studio is the only gaussian splat tour builder here that covers the whole path: capture in, splat out, tour built, tour shared. You upload photos, ordinary video, 360 footage or LiDAR files (E57, LAS, LAZ, PLY), processing runs in the cloud in 10 to 120 minutes with no local GPU, and the result opens in the editor. The viewer also opens .spz, .ply, .splat and .ksplat, so splats made elsewhere work too.

On the tour side, a tour is an ordered playlist of projects published as one showcase, with optional tour-level branding. Inside each project you place guided camera paths and hotspots that carry text, images, video and links. Sharing is a single link, an embed or a QR code, and it opens on a phone, tablet, desktop or headset with no app. For agencies who need their own name on it, the answer is the enterprise white-label option: your brand, colours and domain on both the viewer and the editor, plus an offline viewer.

Where it falls down: a tour is a playlist, not a space you walk through with portals between rooms, so the order is something you design rather than something the viewer discovers. And full white-labelling is an enterprise arrangement, so a solo creator on a basic plan should not expect to remove the Captures Studio frame. Details sit on pricing.

It suits teams that make captures and publish them to clients, particularly across real estate, hospitality and AEC. To see finished work, browse the community.

StorySplat

StorySplat is a browser-based gaussian splat tour builder that turns splat captures into guided web tours. Per its own site, checked 13 October 2026, you set camera waypoints, attach text, images, video or links to hotspots, and connect scenes into one tour.

It does the editing job well and it is honest about what it is. Tours go out as a hosted link, an embed or an export you host yourself. The free tier is limited to public, non-commercial scenes with 1 GB of storage. Commercial use, private scenes and self-hosted export arrive on Plus and above, and the enterprise tier removes StorySplat attribution and lets you present tours under your own brand.

Its limit as a gaussian splat tour builder is the start of the pipeline. It presents splats rather than making them, so you reconstruct elsewhere and import, which adds a tool and a format step. Anyone shipping client work needs a paid tier from day one, because the free plan rules out commercial use.

It suits creators who already have finished splats and want annotation and waypoints without a capture workflow attached.

Splat Labs

Splat Labs is a cloud platform from ROCK Robotic, announced on 26 January 2026 alongside its PortalCam camera. It hosts, shares and measures splats imported from tools such as XGRIDS, Postshot, KIRI Engine and DJI, in PLY, SPLAT, KSPLAT and XGRIDS formats.

For tours, ROCK describes guided walkthroughs with auto-animated camera paths and rich media annotations, shareable links, and embeds for property sites that need no app or plugin. It adds things most rivals skip: AI floor plans with interactive mini-maps, measurement tools, 4D Timelines that align scans over time and Seamless Portals that link interior scans to exterior drone maps.

The catch for a gaussian splat tour builder shortlist: ROCK's announcement does not describe multi-scene tours as such, and it lists "reduced branding" as a paid-plan feature rather than full white-labelling. A free plan exists with two active projects. If your deliverable is a branded showcase of several scenes, you will be working around the product's focus on hosting and measurement.

It suits survey and site teams already inside the ROCK or XGRIDS hardware world. For the 4D side of that work, the free Multi Splat tool aligns and compares two captures.

Spatial Studio by Real Horizons

Spatial Studio is Real Horizons' cloud splat tour platform and gaussian splat tour builder in one. A Radiance Fields write-up dated 3 February 2026 says creators can define a guided path through space while leaving the viewer free to explore, upload existing splats or reconstruct them in the cloud, and combine splats with 360 panoramas and Google Maps 3D Tiles. Tours are meant to be embedded in client websites, with analytics on how visitors move.

A further report dated 18 May 2026 says Real Horizons added multi-splat tours and Smart Hotspots, among other features. That makes it the closest like-for-like rival on stitching scenes together. I could not load the vendor's own site at write time, so the details below rest on those two reports.

What I could not confirm: whether Spatial Studio offers white-labelling or a self-hosted export. Neither report mentions either. If branding on your own domain is a hard requirement, ask before you commit.

It suits creators who want panorama and map context around their splats, as in property and destination marketing.

SuperSplat Studio

SuperSplat Studio, announced by PlayCanvas on 11 February 2026 per Radiance Fields, is narrower and the lightest of the five. You publish a splat through the SuperSplat editor, then build a guided presentation on top: up to 25 annotations per experience, each with a title, text and a saved camera viewpoint, plus bloom, colour grading and tonemapping.

It is a good fit for a single scene with a sequence of points to visit. It does not mention multi-scene tours, white-labelling or capture processing, so as a gaussian splat tour builder it is a presentation layer rather than a platform. Think of it as a polished way to walk someone through one splat.

What is the difference between a splat viewer and a tour builder?

A viewer opens one splat and lets you orbit it. A gaussian splat tour builder adds authored structure: a camera path, annotated hotspots, an order of scenes, and branding on the page that wraps them. The first shows a capture. The second tells someone what to look at, in what sequence, under whose name.

You can see the same split in the best tools for creating 3D Gaussian splats, which covers making the splat. This post covers what happens after.

Which gaussian splat tour builder to pick

Match the tool to the situation.

  • You have raw photos, video, 360 or LiDAR and a client waiting. Take Captures Studio. One account produces the splat and the tour, and the result goes out as a link, embed or QR code.
  • You need the tour under your own brand and domain. Take Captures Studio's enterprise white-label, or StorySplat's enterprise tier. Check the contract on either, because plans change.
  • You already hold finished splats and want free annotation for non-commercial work. Take StorySplat's free tier. The moment a client pays, move to a paid tier.
  • Your captures come from ROCK or XGRIDS hardware, and measurement matters. Look at Splat Labs.
  • You want 360 panoramas and map context in the same tour. Look at Spatial Studio, and ask about branding first.
  • One splat, a handful of stops. SuperSplat Studio is enough.

Before choosing, confirm how the tool takes your files. Our guide to Gaussian splat file formats explains why .ply travels better than most.

FAQ

How do I publish a gaussian splat tour?

Build the scene in your gaussian splat tour builder, add a camera path and hotspots, then publish to a hosted link or an embed. In Captures Studio the link, embed and QR code come from the same project, and the viewer opens on any device with no app. For the embed step on your own site, see how to embed a 3D tour on a website.

Can one tour hold several splats?

Yes, in some tools. Captures Studio publishes an ordered playlist of projects as one showcase. StorySplat describes connecting scenes into a tour, and a May 2026 report says Spatial Studio added multi-splat tours. Splat Labs and SuperSplat Studio do not describe multi-scene tours in the sources checked.

Can I white-label a splat tour?

Yes, with limits. Captures Studio offers an enterprise white-labelled viewer and editor with your brand, colours and domain. StorySplat's enterprise tier removes its attribution and lets you present under your own brand. Splat Labs lists reduced branding on paid plans. Spatial Studio and SuperSplat Studio do not say.

Do I need to make the splat in the same tool?

No. StorySplat, Splat Labs and SuperSplat Studio all start from a splat you already have. The catch is the extra export and upload step. Captures Studio can start from photos, video, 360 or LiDAR, and it also opens .spz, .ply, .splat and .ksplat files made elsewhere.

A tour is a decision, not a file

Once the feature lists stop mattering, three things separate one gaussian splat tour builder from the next: whether the capture and the tour live in the same place, whether the tour carries your name, and whether the scenes can be ordered into one showcase. A single polished splat is easy to produce now. A client-ready sequence of them, under a brand the client recognises, is where the choice of tool starts to show.
