Frequently Asked Questions

Both, and the line between them is simple. Turning LiDAR into 3D is a service that our team runs for you. Captures Studio is the product, and if you already have Gaussian Splats you can run everything yourself inside it. Either one can be white labelled and delivered under your own brand.

Bring the file in and take it end to end yourself. Captures Studio opens .spz, .ply, .splat and .ksplat scenes, then covers editing, hotspots, media, guided camera tours and publishing, whether that is a shared link, an embed on your own site or a QR code.

Not for the LiDAR service. We agree a handover when the work is scoped, whether that is a shared drive, your own cloud storage or a disk, and our team takes it from there. Uploading is the product path, and it is there whenever you want to run a scene yourself.

Point clouds in E57, LAS, LAZ or PLY, along with whatever imagery the rig captured beside them, such as panoramas, stills or drone frames. Colourised clouds work on their own, and camera imagery is what carries the final scene closest to photoreal.

Yes, and that is the usual arrangement. Scenes are delivered under your brand, in your own viewer or client portal, and we stay behind the scenes. You keep the client relationship and the pricing, and we run the reconstruction.

A point cloud stays a cloud of measured points, which is accurate but sparse and hard to read for anyone outside the survey team. We reconstruct the same data as a Gaussian Splat scene, which reads as continuous photorealistic surfaces, so a client sees the space rather than a diagram of it.

A hosted interactive scene you can share as a link, an embeddable viewer for your own site or portal, or the scene files themselves to take into your own product. Which of those you receive is agreed per project.

Full buildings, campuses and outdoor sites. Reconstruction runs on our infrastructure rather than your machines, so scale is a question of scoping rather than hardware, and large captures are processed in batches. Turnaround is agreed upfront and depends on the size of the site, the state of the data and the deliverable.

No. A scene opens from a link in any modern browser on a phone, tablet, desktop or VR headset. There is nothing to install and no GPU workstation required at either end.
